My presentation at Chris Turner’s epic seminar, REPCON, in Bury, Lancashire.
Edited for brevity it recounts just some of my life-long experiences, and encounters with the Goddess, fae, reptilians, and other beings from here and there – benign and malign.

This is about something deeper than surface.
In July or early August 1998, Perth TV viewers, accustomed to ducking for cover from jarring salesmen shouting their iffy bargains at them were suddenly pounded by slick, on-the-button ads announcing an imminent and unmissable spectacular event. World-famous UFO researcher, Stanton Friedman, nuclear physicist, Roswell expert, nemesis of sceptics everywhere, was coming to the once quiet (except for the tele’ ads) little city of Perth. Stanton was in possession of the goods, he’d recently routed Philip Klass, self-proclaimed know-it-all sceptic, with documentary evidence and this Canadian bulldog was taking no prisoners. The noisy-negatives, as he called the sceptics, when he wasn’t calling them de-bunkers, had nothing to fight back with and holstered their smugs.
I wrote and posted this account on my old website shortly after this experience occurred. I meant to add it this blog before but I’d forgotten about it. Anyway, yer tis:

This was to be my first night staying with a friend in her beautiful cabin retreat in the forested hills east of Perth in Western Australia.
On the first night we were driving back from visiting a mutual friend who lives quite close by. As we descended the winding tree-lined drive to the carport I spotted a huge wolf-like creature. It was sitting bolt upright, over four foot high with an unwavering intense alertness in front of a large tree. Its long coat was two-tone – a pale and a darker brown and it its erect ears were rounded at the tips. It stared at us with a demeanour that stated with certainty that it was on guard and that nothing, absolutely nothing, would get past without its OK. It didn’t flinch as we drove past I looked around but whether it was because trees and scrub were blocking my view or that it had melted out of this dimension it was no longer visible. I had no doubt that it was still there though and that it wanted us to know that…..Something was in the wind.

Hi everyone, just a quick post to notify those who haven’t yet subscribed to the Song of Ffraed, there are two new posts with a Beltane theme :
I’m four days later than I hoped to be but at last I could test a feeling I’d had for a long time: that the well, indeed the whole of this small ‘not always of just this world’ sacred precinct in Llanllawer, is aligned in specific ways to the Calan Haf (Beltane) risings of both the Sun and Venus.
Of course matters will have changed from the original Taurean era due to precession over thousands of years, but I was intrigued to know how things are now, and how Christianity had worked with the moments since it had constructed its overlays…and how did the Dragon’s journey match up with it here, now?

Embarking on a trip into the Astrological Ages will take us back in time thousands of years, from there to present time, and then forward into the future. On this voyage we will not only be looking at many of the literal events that have formed civilization as we know it but, more importantly, their symbolic import. Seems to me we could all use a good dose of symbolic insight these days with the world we are now living in, no? As I often teach, archetypal perception provides the alchemy that can change your life, which means it can change the world. Carl Jung warned us: when we cease to live the symbolic life, we cease to partake in the life of the gods (the divine and universal processes that are the very ground of existence), and so we miss celebrating the divine sacrament of a daily life lived with meaning. It is my hope that this tour may hold for you the possibility of embracing new perceptions to transform your worldviews and inspire a future vision. We are indeed living in the space between the current Age of Pisces and the forthcoming Age: the Age of Aquarius. This renders us between worlds.

As someone who loves all things supernatural I was intent to discover what beautiful magical Wales, steeped in mystery and superstition has to offer in the way of local ghosts and folklore.
Walking my dog through the enchanting woods near my home in Maes Y Gwartha and along the path to Clydach Gorge, I imagine the trees whispering their secrets to me. Inspired to find out more, last week I met with official Welsh tourist guide Eifion Lloyd-Davies at Gellifelen tunnels for a guided tour through Clydach Gorge and sure enough he did not disappoint with his bygone tales of the mythical legends associated with the area.
The Gorge is an enchanting place, cutting deep through the rocks of the South Wales coalfield between Brynmawr and Gilwern and despite the current works on the A465 it is easy to lose yourself in its fairy-tale splendour.
