To wit: everything has changed. Things will not be going back to the way they were before. The status quo ante (bellum understood in the original Latin) has gone bye-bye, never to return.
The state of things before the war (Latin : bellum), has evaporated; it will not be restored, and in many ways the rules under which it operated are not applicable today. The terms of engagement are different.
And yes, there is a war; we’re in the middle of it right now, and it’s quite a big one. It will very dramatically intensify in November of this year. That’s right, however chaotic you may think things are right now, just you wait. There will be a steady drumbeat of dismaying events, and then in November the blazing bonfire of discontent and mayhem gets soused, doused, drenched, deluged, walloped with an industrial torrent of history-changing accelerant and: WHOOMP! WHOOSH! The world as we have known it is going to be forever turned on its head.
