John Pilger: The International Court of Justice in The Hague has handed down a momentous judgement that says Britain’s colonial authority over the Chagos Islands is no longer legal. John Pilger, whose 2004 film, Stealing a Nation, alerted much of the world to the plight of the islanders, tells their story here.

Even when not visible to the naked eye, the insidious glow from towns and cities reduces the intensity of celestial objects and turns a potentially knockout starlit canopy into a merely pleasing one. And that’s without considering the human, animal and environmental cost of excessive nocturnal illumination on natural circadian rhythms.

And if you’re a photographer, even distant or faint ‘night blight’ throws a sickly colour cast into the sky, reducing the visibility of everything in it – particularly during the relatively long exposures necessary to capture detail in the dark. So for successful celestial shots, it helps to have as dark a sky as possible.

Daily Mail: Apple’s popular wireless AirPods headphones may pose cancer risks to wearers, according to a United Nations and World Health Organization petition.

Some 250 have signed the petition, which warns against numerous devices that emit radiofrequency radiation, which is used in WiFi, cellular data and Bluetooth.

AirPods in particular are concerning because they sit deeply enough within the ear canal to emit expose these fragile parts of the ear to dangerous among of radiation, some experts warn.

The scientific jury is still out on the whether or not the particular devices an cause cancer, but animal studies on the kind of radiofrequency radiation that they emit has suggested a link to cancer.

The shadow can be cast by a larger than life personality, a parent, a grandparent, a mythic ancestor, or by a sibling. When an individual appears with exceptional gifts, beauty or brilliance, others may find themselves less attended to. A bright light may be a gift for a family, a source of pride on many levels. And yet others may feel left out, hidden, or unimportant. Such difficult emotions run through families, they are often pushed into the unconscious, and emerge as emotional or even physical symptoms. The descendants of famous individuals often struggle to live up to an exceptional ancestor. In my own clientele I have seen stories of alcoholism, and suicide in the wake of a famous ancestor. The Kennedy family, with its tragic deaths among several generations is a telling example.

If that was not weird enough, in most of those same cases the helicopters did something astounding and almost unbelievable. What that might have been? Well, I’ll tell you. Those same ‘copters morphed into (A) the shapes of classic 1950s-era flying saucers, (B) small balls of light, and (C) large, blinding balls of light. Such reports stretch credulity to the absolute max; even I have to admit that much. But, such reports are surprisingly widespread within the field of Ufology. Nick Redfern, Mysterious Universe: As someone who writes books, gives lectures, and posts articles here and there, I get a lot of feedback. For the most part, it comes via emails, phone-calls and Facebook messages, from people who want to share their experiences, ask questions, or offer their opinions on the things I have written about. Occasionally, however, I’ll find myself on the receiving end of a communication (or several) from someone claiming an “Insider”-type background. A whistle-blower, in other words.  There have been a few occasions when my path has crossed with those of enigmatic characters whose backgrounds did indeed place them in the world of certain, covert activities – all connected to UFOs, in one way or another.

As interesting as this almost crazed story admittedly was, I quite naturally asked the man for something to back up his extraordinary claims. He told me to keep a look out for something that would be arriving in a couple of days. The phone then clicked. He had hung up. I thought: how can something be coming to my apartment when he didn’t even have my address? Two days later, on March 4, 2017 I found out. Apparently, he, or someone associated with him, did have my address. Around noon, I went down to get the mail. As I opened my apartment door, I saw a yellow envelope sitting on my “Welcome” mat.

Nick Redfern, Mysterious Universe: As a follow-up to my 2-part article on Shadow People and the Philadelphia Experiment – which is very much driven by the words and controversial claims of a whistleblower – I thought I would share with you over the next few days a number of additional whistleblower-based accounts that have come my way. We’ll begin with one which concerns the controversial Roswell affair of 1947. Back in 1998, I wrote a book titled The FBI Files. It told the story of the Bureau’s involvement in the UFO phenomenon, contactee cases, the alleged Aztec, New Mexico UFO crash of 1948, the cattle mutilation mystery, and even FBI records on the sinister Men in Black. Chapter Four of the book was titled “The Oak Ridge Invasion.” As so often happens when I write a book, people who personally know something of its contents or subject-matter will contact me and share the relevant information. And that is precisely what happened with regard to that specific chapter. It was a study of FBI files that had been declassified under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act and which described various UFO encounters at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee, from the late 1940s to the early 1950s.

One of the people who contacted me – by letter, via the London, England-based publisher of The FBI Files, Simon & Schuster – was an elderly woman who worked at Oak Ridge in 1947, and who had read my book.

Sequoyah Kennedy, Mysterious Universe: It’s a testament to just how giant and mysterious the ocean is that we can still be discovering new species of whales; they’re not exactly small creatures. Earlier this year, a team of scientists on the southern tip of Chile recorded footage of a mysterious pod of killer whales with distinctly different head shapes and markings than ordinary orcas. Scientists think this footage might be evidence of a never-before-recorded species of killer whale and are using genetic testing to prove it.

Thomas Baker ‘Tom’ Slick, Jr., inherited millions from his Texas oil rich father and was an inventor, businessman, adventurer and hunter. During the 1950s, he organised expeditions to investigate the ‘Loch Ness Monster’, the ‘Yeti’, ‘Bigfoot’ and the ‘Trinity Alps giant salamander’.

It was on his first trek to Tibet in 1956 to locate the Yeti, when he met Peter Byrne, who would accompany him on future expeditions. Byrne would later be linked to the CIA backed extraction of the Dali Lama, his family and advisors from Lhasa, Tibet, in 1959.

Slick, with powerful friends like CIA contact man, Howard Hughes, would have been seen as a valuable asset. At the time, very few people with the necessary resources could keep tabs on the Chinese conflict with Tibet and the Soviet interests in the region.

Byrne and Slick were not the first explorers and Yeti hunters connected to the CIA; anthropologists Carlton Coon and George Agogino, both seeking the alleged ‘abominable snowman’, had CIA connections.

Was Slick spying for the CIA? The Soviets thought so and published a report carried by the New York Times that claimed Slick was behind an effort to subvert the Chinese, and free Tibet in 1957.
