Christmas is coming and it’s time to roll out our true Christmas story again:

The Gifts of Friends, the Kindness of Strangers

Another exciting release, that you can watch now:

Every Country in the world has myths and legends, every culture tells of monsters that lurk in the unseen. Stories of a large hairy creatures with man like features have existed in various parts of the world for many centuries. In fact, the only continent not to have stories of “wild men” is Antarctica. In the Himalayas, it’s the Yeti. In Canada, it’s the Sasquatch. And in the northwest United States, it’s Bigfoot. What many people don’t know is that Britain has it’s very own monster legends, known traditionally as the Wodewose or Wildman, it is described by believers as being between six and eight feet tall with a large forehead and pronounced brow, like a cave man’s, and a rounded, crested head like a gorilla’s. Britain’s most famous ‘monster’ is the Werewolf, known world wide as Wolfmen or Dogmen, this creature has it’s roots here in Britain and throughout Europe.
The most shocking fact about these ‘monsters’ is that today, in modern times, there are over 500 sightings of creatures fitting these descriptions. The sightings are still coming in week after week. Film maker Chris Turner spent 2 years travelling the across Great Britain, interviewing witnesses, wild camping in hotspots all in an attempt to The uncover the truth about these Elusive British Cryptids!

“Long Dark Road” by the Hollies, from their album Distant Light (1971). It was released as a single in 1972 and was a Top 30 hit in The US and Canada.

Medmenham is a village and civil parish located in Wycombe, a district in Buckinghamshire, England. The parish is best-known for its abbey, which was founded during the Middle Ages. As a monastic institution, Medmenham Abbey was of little importance. Its fame (or infamy) was achieved during the 18 th century, long after the monks ceased living there. In that century, Medmenham Abbey was transformed into the base of the Hellfire Club.

The people of England got their name from the Angles, who, along with the Saxons, invaded in the early- to mid-5th century AD, after the Roman Empire began to groan under the weight of barbarian incursions and withdrew from the island. Anglo-Saxon origins are from northern Germany. They ruled England until the 11th century, when the Normans under William the Conqueror arrived.

Other people also came to England after the Romans left, including the Jutes from Denmark and, later, the Vikings. The Jutes were also Germanic people. But it was the Anglo-Saxon culture and Germanic language that shaped England for centuries. They exchanged their Norse religion for Christianity.

The Celts , who had had dominion over Britain before the Romans arrived, moved north into Scotland and west to Ireland as the invaders set southern Britain to the torch and apparently enslaved the Britons.
The Anglo-Saxon Conquerors: Creators of Medieval England

As you may know from the popular histories, the Romans left Britain at ‘ten past four on a wet Tuesday afternoon’, and those unlucky enough to be left behind were forcibly supplanted by a wholesale invasion of Angles, Saxons and Jutes! Yet, does this widely accepted version of events make any real sense? OK, before I attempt to explain my ‘hypothesis’ further, please disregard the references to the time and weather as it should be fairly obvious that they were complete fabrications! That said, when watching popular television documentaries and listening to the bold statements of ‘subject matter experts’ (self-styled or otherwise), I do sometimes wonder just how long it would take for such ‘facts’ to gain their own credibility with the general public if repeated often enough? And that got me thinking – just how sure are we of the assertion that Germanic invaders ousted and replaced the entire population, social structure, economy and language of Romano-Britain post AD 500? To be fair, the popular invasion theory has been largely supplanted by theories of mass migration across Europe in 5th and 6th centuries AD. Yet I cannot help feeling even this explanation is still woefully inaccurate and increasingly unsupportable. Especially as the traditionally accepted historical accounts, Gildas and Bede for example, are re-evaluated in the light of modern scientific techniques in archaeology, linguistics, and even genetics.
Invasion? What Invasion?

The modern Christian church does not condone prostitution and would never consider getting involved with it. However, in 12 th century England, a borough of London known as Southwark had eighteen licensed brothels with about one thousand prostitutes employed therein! All of these brothels were run by the church and brought in large sums of money for building churches and other ecclesiastical duties.

Clinical Lycanthropy is a strange, and not fully understood, phenomena that makes a person believe they have the ability to change into wild animals – whether by choice or as a result of circumstances wholly out of their control. Lycanthropes report mutating into all manner of animals, including tigers, jaguars, eagles, foxes, hyenas, and cats. And, of course, wolves. A perfect example of how this particular condition can radically affect the mind of person – never mind those who cross the paths with lycanthropes – is the deeply disturbing saga of a man named Peter Stubbe. It is a story told in “Trials: The Damnable Life and Death of Peter Stubbe, 1589-90.” It was in the latter part of the 16th century that Stubbe went on veritable rampage of mutilation, cannibalism, and murder in and around the German towns of Bedburg and Cperadt. The story, however, goes back to Stubbe’s childhood. At the age of just eleven, Stubbe’s grandmother – who had a reputation as someone who was deeply learned in what are generally known as the black arts – introduced him to a world that most people never get to see. Or, even want to see.
The Werewolf That Wasn’t

In his book, Strange Intruders, David Weatherly says that the Incubus and the Succubus “live in a spirit world and crave the energy and life essence of the living.” They are dangerous, violent and manipulative things that very often present themselves in the form of a person’s definitive fantasy. There is, however, nothing appealing about these monsters of the night. In fact, they should be avoided at all costs. It’s either that or ultimately pay a terrible price. The problem is that it’s very difficult to escape their clutches when you are in bed, completely paralyzed, and held down by a malevolent thing from another plane of existence.
Supernatural Invaders in the Dead of Night

Among the many contentious sub-fields of phenomena associated with UFO research, perhaps none is quite so baffling as animal mutilation. Many of these apparent “mutilations” have been casually dismissed as the simple interventions of scavenging beasts, following the natural or otherwise mundane death of cattle or other livestock. Undoubtedly, this is true in some cases, although there are other instances where physical evidence points to a more complex phenomenon behind the mysterious deaths and mutilations.

Nick Redfern delved into long secret files on alien abductions. He tells us what he found in this episode of The Paranormal Podcast.
