Almost 900 homes, 1,000 businesses and around 60 “irreplaceable” ancient woodlands will be destroyed by the construction of the HS2 railway, according to the company behind the project.

The scale of damage was described as “far worse” than expected by campaigners, who accused those behind the project of opting for a more damaging route to keep costs down.

HS2 will provide a high-speed link between London and Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester, but it has faced criticism due to its cost and environmental harm.

Where democracy counts most, it is nowhere to be seen. The decisions that shape the life of a nation are taken behind our backs. With occasional exceptions, public choice is reserved for trivia. The most consequential choices, as they are the longest lasting, arguably involve major infrastructure. The number of disasters in this field is remarkable. A classic paper by the economic geographer Bent Flyvbjerg, Survival of the Unfittest, explains that there is an innate tendency on the part of policymakers to choose the worst possible projects, as a result of the lock-in of fixed ideas at an early stage. This is caused, his evidence shows, not by accidental error or even delusional optimism, but by “strategic misrepresentation”. Advisers become advocates, and advocates become hucksters boosting their favoured projects.

The schemes that look best on paper, and therefore are most likely to be adopted, are those that have been scrutinised the least. Democratic debate would reveal their flaws. This is why planners who wish to leave their mark treat it as a threat. To the megalomaniacs who draw lines on maps, public opinion is like landscape features: it must be cleared out of the way.

A striking example is the government’s plan for an Oxford-to-Cambridge expressway. A decision to which we have not been party, which will irrevocably change the region it affects, is imminent. The new road, says the plan, will support the construction of a million homes.

This in’t really news to most people with a bit of nous. It’s ongoing. This alternative community, its conferences, its media, and its communications are heavily watched, infiltrated and seduced too. People within it taken out by any and every means. In the main I have found that the genre is populated by people whose primary focus is on sharing what they know or have discovered, but what I have also noticed is that there is very little discernment, not just in what they believe but also about who to trust.  The acute lack of funding for ethical and genuinely committed primary source content creators – e.g. writers, filmmakers inevitably draws dark forces towards them with highly tempting offers which will inevitably compromise the good guys if they fall for them. It’s a Satanic ploy as old as the hills – the devil’s tempting of Jesus in the desert are teachings intended to warn us of such dangers. Beware the charming man. Romania celebrates the Sanziene (also known as Dragaica) on June 24, a pagan tradition which coincides with the Orthodox holiday of the birth of Ioan Botezatorul (St. John the Baptist –  so, happy name day to all named Ion/Ioana!). This day also marks the middle of summer and celebrates nature and fecundity.

Under the popular belief, Sanzienele were considered to be some beautiful women living in the woods or fields unexplored by man. According to the tradition, Sanzienele float in the air or walk on the ground on the night of June 23 to June 24, dancing and singing. The skies open on this magical night and miracles can happen.

In 2012, a Wicklow community set off on a search for a legendary pagan cross that vanished from their St. Patrick’s Church parish 60 earlier.

The Independent reported that there were disparaging rumors as to why the granite cross may have vanished. Some said that local residents believed the cross was attracting fairies. Others believed it was buried by then priest Fr Matthew Blake, mainly because of its graphic carvings which displayed women and their “exaggerated genitalia.”

Since time unremembered there have been rumored to be forces from beyond our understanding out to attack, harass, torment, and possess us. There are many popular articles and writers on the net that concern me in as much as they perform the function of a subliminal loop tape whether intentional or not. It is a good thing to inform people of how they are being filed and programmed but I question the need to constantly point and spray the same such details at viewers over and over again. I am discerning and watchful myself when it comes to material on the web and I encourage everyone else to be; but it isn’t enough to be aware and informed people also need to know how to deal with what they allow in to their minds and virtually nobody does.
