Donna Pollard had only just turned 16 when she stood in a Kentucky state court house with a serial paedophile who had used his position of trust to groom and repeatedly rape her over the previous two years.

Her abuser, smartly dressed in a dark suit and blue tie, was not cuffed or restrained in any way. For he was not facing any charges for the hideous crimes that devastated a fragile girl’s life from the age of 14.

Incredibly, he was in court to marry his victim – with the full consent of Donna’s mother and under the authority of a state that not only sanctioned child marriage but turned a blind eye as abused children are forced into wedlock with their attackers.

Behold a child.

A slight girl all of 6, she leaves the modest family farm, where the father minds the livestock and the mother keeps a painful secret, and walks out to the main road. Off she goes to primary school, off to the Sisters of Mercy.

Her auburn hair in ringlets, this child named Catherine is bound for Tuam, the ancient County Galway town whose name derives from a Latin term for “burial mound.” It is the seat of a Roman Catholic archdiocese, a proud distinction announced by the skyscraping cathedral that for generations has loomed over factory and field.

As you may have seen, last week I wrote three articles here at Mysterious Universe on the involvement in the UFO subject of the U.K. Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). It’s the U.K.’s equivalent of the United States’ National Security Agency (NSA). You can find the three articles at these links: one, two and three. It’s worth noting, though, that there are more than a few agencies of government in the United Kingdom that have been involved in the investigation of (a) UFOs and (b) those involved in the subject, whether researchers or eyewitnesses.

Meandering across a portion of Queensland, in northeast Australia, is a stretch of road called the Flinders Highway, which spans 500 miles between Townsville and Mount Isa. The highway passes though some phenomenal scenery and some desolate expanses of Outback, and it seems like just any other secluded remote road. Yet, this strip of road has accrued quite a sinister reputation for the large number of accidents and mysterious disappearances that have occurred here, earning it a more ominous nickname: “The Highway of Death.”

I found myself unexplainably drawn to the fact that The Circus in Bath is sited at the intersection of two ley lines I had discovered, one running from Stonehenge to Caerleon (supposed place of King Arthur’s coronation), the other running from Avebury to the Island of Lundy [see Appendix for details].

Those familiar with the type of sites that typically lie along leys – standing stones, long-barrows, cairns, henges and such – will have spotted that a circular street of large townhouses – historic and impressive though it is – does not qualify as a ley marker, yet I had heard whisperings and pub-talk that alluded to esoteric secrets within the layout of the city of Bath, and felt a pull to look into the matter.

A regular on various cryptozoological blogs and forums told me this tale which she had related before to others. It was a friend of the family whose name she cannot remember and the story suggests the event perhaps happened during the Second World War. The area near to Cambrian Wildwood was in the national news a few weeks ago with the story of Lillith the lynx, who escaped from Borth Wild Animal Kingdom and was subsequently shot dead, which saddened people locally and all over the world. Some people responded by saying they will never go on holiday to Ceredigion.

Many comments on social media condemned the use of lethal intervention instead of tranquilizing the animal, and dispute Ceredigion County Council’s description of their actions as ‘humane’. Lynx in the wild have never been known to harm humans, so the panic over the escape of Lillith appeared to be somewhat irrational. To set this context, cows have killed 74 people in the past 15 years in the UK alone. These figures are not used to argue that all cows should be killed or kept in cages.

A zoo which saw two of its lynx die within days of each other has been allowed to keep dangerous animals again.

Borth Wild Animal Kingdom in Ceredigion had been banned from keeping certain animals including wild cats after the deaths in October.

But after an inspection of the zoo, Ceredigion council said it had decided to reverse the ban on the condition that a qualified and experienced keeper was employed.

Looks like there is either no evidence for Lillith killing the sheep or there is evidence for some other creature(s) doing it. There are big cats wandering the Cambrians, they’ve been seen by too many people – and I think I saw one myself last week (a cougar)….but then I’ve also seen up there oddly arranged dog paw-prints, and only two, then a single at a puzzling angle, and another odd one – and no accompanying human ones, only scrambler tyre tracks. Sheep were savaged in the Beast of Bont area, at Twyn, in the Cambrians, about 10 days ago. I can’t find any newspaper reports on this, oddly. The poster about it that I saw in the local shop had police describing the killings as ‘sustained’. Was this savage attack by ‘dogs’ or something else? Even if it was there’s certainly a cover-up going on. – Ellis

 

I have been asked this week about the British Dogman accounts, and i have to admit like most people i know very little about them.  I have heard many theories and ideas on who and what they are, i myself am unsure and don’t feel qualified to answer the question, but what i can do i think is to share the reports i have, and anyone wanting to research them can then do so as they wish.  It is a tricky subject here in the UK due to the odd lie and exaggeration by some untrustworthy people, but when the truth is told, this amounts to nothing more than hearsay and half truths. And leaves us with valid witness accounts just like the Wildman accounts that come in.

Tonight’s guest, Flinn, due to his past, knows how to defend himself and has been in a lot of situations most people would consider terrifying. Some of those experiences he’s had shook him up, quite a bit, but none of them came close to causing him to feel the fear he felt when he found himself merely feet away from a Dogman 20 years ago, in Wales. That wasn’t the only run-in he’s had with Dogmen in his life either. Other encounters were to follow. We hope you tune in and listen to Flinn talk about those experiences.
